Design is my oxygen. It brings me to life and keeps me looking ahead. More than an arrangement of lines, patterns and textures, to me it’s an empathic experience that allows a person to feel extraordinary.

As an entrepreneurial designer from Los Angeles, I studied in Paris, got my start in surfwear, and built two contemporary women’s lines –  Piper and Townsen – from the ground up. Leading the design, creative direction, and production for Piper and Townsen, I created seasonal collections that successfully sold in major retailers and marketplaces like Shopbob, Revolve, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, and Intermix.

Building something from nothing to a multi-million dollar collection requires agility, dexterity, and dedication. It was challenging growing from a team of 2 to 8 in Los Angeles and New York City, but deeply rewarding. Traveling to Peru, China, and India to source and manage factories expanded my perspective and stretched my skill set.

With Piper still taking shape, my husband and I moved from Los Angeles to Melbourne, Australia – an adventurous step to see and experience the world from a different lens. While in Australia, I also collaborated with Saint.cc on the creation of their Saint Works range, Adventure capsule and Women’s SP ‘19 collection. Another chance to start with only a few raw ingredients and design something impactful. A departure from my contemporary experience it allowed me to explore a new market and customer. We went to Pakistan. We perfected fits, fabrics, and washes. We did something different that we were all proud of.

In September 2018 we moved to San Francisco and I have been working at Modern Citizen since. As design director I was brought in to provide strategic and practical apparel design experience across the development cycle, from concept to production.
